Miega Korean BBQ

Tonight we went to Miega for Korean BBQ.  It had been on our list for a while and we finally got to go.   It was a lot of food, but everything was so delicious!

The table we sat at had a heating element built into it.   The waitress just exchanged the flat top for a slanted metal piece with drains for fat.

The food comes with unlimited side dishes, as well as rice and lettuce.  Pictured below are all the various pickles and sauces with the seafood pancake appetizer (small size).  The pancake is very much like okonomiyaki.

We ordered the two most popular items:   thinly sliced pork belly and barbecue beef ribs.

They cooked the pork first because it was plain and would be affected by the sauce on the beef.   Only after all of it was off the griddle did they start in on the beef.

Pictured above is the uncooked beef.

This is what it looks like when it's all done.   Be wary, there are bones in the meat.

Note the metal chopsticks.

There was a yogurt drink for dessert.

I really enjoyed myself tonight.   Two orders of meat equals four meals (two in the restaurant and two for leftovers).

Cleveland Vegan

Hi everyone.  I decided to have a leisurely brunch this morning at Cleveland Vegan.  I got the pick 3 items for brunch deal at twenty dollars.  No animal products were used in the making of my food, but it looks too decadent to be true!  Pictured above is a banana peanut butter chocolate chip waffle with coconut whipped topping.   It felt like dessert to me!

I usually don't eat much fruit, but today I ordered the seasonal fruit bowl.  In today's selection, there was a mix of pineapple, bananas, apples (I think), and some citrus with seeds.  I think an orange.

Lastly, I had some smashed avocado toast.  It had some sort of sprouts on it.   I really enjoy savory stuff at breakfast, so this really balanced the fruit and waffle.

Try The World: Holiday Box

Hello food aficionados!   I know it's been a long time.  I have the pictures from our holiday Try the World package. Rather than give one country the spotlight, the box is tasty stuff from several countries.  As of this posting, the only thing we have tried is the chocolate.   On to the photos!

The box this time is rectangular and slightly larger than the other packages.

This time, there was a hay type thing instead of the paper shreds.

The item guide!

Dried berries from Finland.

Panettone from Italy.

Yerba mate tea from the UK.   This should be very caffeinated.

Cookies from Morocco.

Extra virgin olive oil from Israel.   I wonder how it will taste compared to the bottle we got from the Spain box.

Acai fruit sauce from Brazil.

Cocoa truffles from France.  I didn't have high expectations because I've had the type from the big box stores.  The taste is slightly different although they look nearly identical.   Yummy!

Lastly, ginger snaps from Sweden.

Then we packed everything back in the box, nice and tidy.

There are so many delicious treats available this time of the year.  This box will slowly be consumed as a result.
