It's Super Bowl day and we went out to have tea at Miss Molly's Tea Room. I usually have had tea as a meal at steampunk events. This is the first time I've had it specifically at a restaurant. Pictured above are our tea settings. They used loose leaf tea and provide a strainer. Steve had Snowberry and I had Victorian Rose. Both are types of flavored black tea and each teapot contained four cups.
I had the quiche today, which was mushroom and Swiss. I picked lobster bisque as my side and it was served with lemon tea bread. It was very tasty and an appropriate sized portion.
Steve had vegetable lasagna with stuffed pepper soup. It came with bread and butter. He had enough of his lasagna for later.
Four cups of tea per person is a lot to consume, so we decided to order some dessert. Steve ordered the coconut cake.
This is my tuxedo cake. The slice was very generous and I had to take the rest home with me.
The nice thing about Miss Molly's is that they are ala carte. Often times tea is a pre-fixe meal (which is great in terms of trying new things which you may not normally order). The decorations are lovely. Lots of Tiffany style lamps and floral prints. Also, our teacups matched the dishes they were sitting upon.
At the end of your meal, you walk through the gift shop to pay your bill. It's a clever idea. We ended up picking up some tea and bread to go. Miss Molly's is a wonderful experience and I definitely plan on visiting again.
